Middle School

This year we will be focusing on the Mystery of God and how God relates to our faith as well as our lives. Our Faith First text the explores God through concepts such as Trinity and the mystery of creation to understanding salvation through Jesus Christ. Each unit meets the young people where they are. Some of the resources the students will have available to them are a text book, a bible and the option of online review. Each student will receive their own text book to take home and access to www.faithfirst.com for chapter reviews. Young people and parents have the option of additional home study and may go through an online chapter review in conjunction with their text book. Young people will be taught by teachers who were trained by Faith First personnel.

GIFT (Growing In Faith Together) will be meeting in the large group approximately once a month for a more   dynamic prayer service, faith and scripture study. This will include powerful presentations, teen witness talks and a solid text. Each student will receive their own textbook and student Bible. The second meeting of the month will take place in the homes where students and teachers can debrief from the large group meeting while dialoguing and sharing  intensive faith study in their text and Bibles. Incoming students will be using Harcourt text books, one of the best in  Catholic publishing. All meetings will be completed within 2 hours.

The Gathering will serve as a more informal way for teens to come together for faith, fellowship and fun. This multifunctional event will build leadership, inspire service and faith through allowing young people to use their various gifts. Performances by teen bands and music groups, large scale carnival type games, community building activities and exposure to the Christian faith are the central components of The Gathering.

Although The Gathering is not a formal sacramental prep program young people are encouraged to attend for the experience will deepen their faith and their connection to the community.
