INTERFAITH VACATION BIBLE CAMP

Under Construction:  A Habitat for Humanity Vacation Bible Camp June 27-30, 2010, was our annual Vacation Bible Camp held in conjunction with Columbia Baptist Fellowship, Columbia Jewish Congregation, Columbia United Christian Church and Lutheran Church of the Living Word at the Oakland Mills Interfaith Center.  Our skit featuring Tim the Toolman, Al his friend, Wilson and Nomi his neighbors, Jill his wife, and Adam his son helped us learn about Habitat for Humanity and how they are working to provide affordable housing in Howard County.  We remembered that when we work together we can do amazing things.  We made picture frames and birdhouses for Habitat families because we care about them.  And we celebrated the work that Habitat does and the gifts that we made for them and the contributions that our house banks made.  When we arrived we took our hardhats off and had a hearty meal served by the Knights of Columbus, sang songs and did a skit, and broke into groups of pre-schoolers, elementary (1-3, and 4-5), middle school and high school, and adults.  Thanks to everyone who came and everyone who helped.
